Sunday finery grandmothers and gardenias whiskey in their tea
the clock is ticking regulars are submitting Harper published "Mess"
sweet honeysuckle bees hover over the blooms buzzing fills the air
bombs dropping on schools gas prices climbing fumes drifting through hoods
oh, fudgy delight eating ice cream for dinner belly softly jiggles
