Optimal Foetal Position
I imagine my baby in their ideal position... What is OFP? "Optimal Foetal Positioning" was developed by midwives Jean Sutton and Pauline Scott. They found that women could influence the position of their babies through activities in the later weeks of pregnancy, and this could impact how their labours unfolded.

Pain Relief in Labour II: Paracetemol
"Have a bath and take some paracetemol..." Give me a wave if you were told this in early labour! Let's imagine your labour begins spontaneously at home. At some point you might call the midwife led unit (MLU) to tell them regular tightenings have started and get their insight about the right time to go in, or have a midwife attend you.

Pain relief in labour: Gas and Air
Here in the UK, gas and air (Entonox) is very commonly offered to women in labour. It is a gas made up of 50% oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide. It's sometimes called "laughing gas". It is usually available in hospital. It's also used during home births (the midwives bring cannisters of it with them).
