A Parable of Word Power

A Story of Authenticity, Autonomy, & AUTHORity

By We the PPULPublished 11 days ago Updated about 3 hours ago 5 min read

Many stories are written about Authority, Goddess of authors and writers, scripters and scribes, word+smiths...

What stays consistent in most tellings is like her sisters Authenticity and Autonomy, her words materialize.

Anything she wrote became so. And as long as the writing remained intact, whatever she wrote remained so.

She had written:

I author sayings. I author stories. I author songs.

I author origins, journeys, and destinies.

And whosoever wields a magic wand,

The words they etch will be given body and breath by me, Authority.

The Gold Sisters

Authority first learns of her powers when she started writing down the songs and stories of her older sisters.

Authenticity, Goddess of sound, singers, and song. Anything she sang came alive.

Autonomy, Goddess of story tellers, sayings, and speech. Anything she spoke came to life.

With so many sounds and songs, so many sayings and stories, there was no way for Authority to remember them all, except to write them.

So when Authority first began to write down her favorite songs and stories, the older sisters noticed an immediate change. The utterances that had been written not only came true, but stayed true. Materializations that used to disappear as soon as the echo of their last sound faded, now remained.

The written word, cast into physical form held reality more firmly together.

The Powers of Autonomy

Many eons ago, as Autonomy approached maturity, she had know idea her powers of creation. She didn't much care for singing. She preferred to just simply state what she wished to say.

Living as Authenticity's echo was no longer tolerable. She wanted to be her own being. To help her find her own way, Authenticity suggested to Autonomy, "why don't you speak your own words rather than repeat in speech what I sing?"

Thanks to her encouragement, if Authenticity sang one thing, Autonomy would say the opposite.

If Authenticity sang of the dark night, Autonomy spoke of the day light. If Authenticity sang of the seas, Autonomy spoke of the land. And if Authenticity sang of the yin, Autonomy spoke of the yang.

There was now night and day. There was land and sea. There was a ebb and flow, a balance of energies. This is how Autonomy's word powers were discovered.

Knowing what she was capable of, she became mindful of the words she spoke.

Now when Authority began to write down some of Autonomy's sayings and stories, it become clear those word powers extended to unspoken ideas. When words are written they're easier to perceive it seems. They can be heard and seen.

Things that previously went unnoticed, unnamed, or unrecognized at the speed of conversation, became visible when crystalized in script.

Being able to reread, review, and rehear gave more time to uncover the ideas embedded underneath the surface and hidden between the lines.

Ideas long repeated out of habit could be rethought. If she didn't like the results of her speech, Autonomy now had the power and the choice to reword herself.

"The definition of sanity is doing something different and expecting different results."

The Powers of Authenticity

For eons upon eons, Authenticity's kin had been the souls, the hearts, and the minds. Her kind had been the elements, air, fire, water, and earth. Her kindred had been the beings of the sea, the beings of the land, and the beings of the air.

For eons upon eons she harmonized with the sounds of space, with the sounds of stars, with the sounds of skies, with the sounds of seas.

She had know idea she was cocreating. The full weight of her part in creation occurred when Autonomy emerged.

One day she was inspired to sing the sound, "aaauuuuuuuuu". And when she did, gold appeared all around and shined back.

She sang the sound a second time but differently, "aaaUUUUUUUUU!" And when she did, wolves could be heard in the distance howling back, "aaaUUUUUUUUU!"

She sang the sound a third time, this time in short bursts, "AuuU! AuuU!" And when she did, Autonomy appeared speaking back, "Hey you!"

Over time Autonomy turned sounds into speech. Sensations into sayings. Those speeches and sayings became inspiration for new songs. And for every new song she would sing, new lives and ways of being would spring.

Biophily! Philogynoirrr!

she heart the miiind, he mind the hearrrt,

A love of life, a life of love,

the strength we have Redemption PSALM!

Still, she always loved to sing sounds. She would tell her sisters, 'the sounds just feel good, even if they don't always make sense.'

When Authority wrote sounds, something subtle and substantial could be seen and felt. A bend in reality. A shift in the elements. A portal opened.

Ooo! Gaia she enlights eye,

holds I in relationship,

ever after we live life

always within Eden.

The Powers of Authority

Whether inspired by Authenticity playing with sounds or by Autonomy rewording ideas, one day Authority got the idea to play with recreating words. But she wasn't sure how to do it.

She could always add things to a spelling?

She could subtract things from a spelling?

She could highlight some part of spelling?

Then she remembered she already always had complete say in the matter. So with her magic wand she affirmed:

"I will create words anew…I can create words anew…I DO create words a+new."

Immediately words she'd never heard popped up in her mind. Some felt flat and foreign. Some felt full and familiar. Even if she couldn't fully explain what they meant, intuitively they made sense.

Hesitant of what might materialize if she committed them to page, she recalled some of the lessons learned from herself and her sisters.

And so with her magic wand she affirmed:

Anything created, can be recreated. Anything written, rewritten.

I can rewrite stories, sayings, and songs.

I can rewrite ideas and beliefs.

She thought a moment before adding:

I can rewrite words.

Assured of her abilities she began to write. And as she wrote, the elements shifted.

Reality bent.

A portal opened.

Anew world took form.

Alongside it, she transformed. Authority, Goddess of authors and writers, scripters and scribes, now also became Goddess of word+smiths and world+smiths.

A power all the Gold Sisters would come to find they shared in common.

When we create new words, we create new worlds.

With her songs, Authenticity continued giving the world feeling and flow. With her speech, Autonomy continued giving the world freedom and focus. With her script, Authority continued giving the world fortitude and form.

In the process they empowered each other and all those who inhabit these worlds.

So it is that here, now, and all ways, we can recreate, rewrite, and revise. Likewise when we create new words, we create new worlds.

Whosoever sings anew song, whosoever tells anew story, whosoever wields a magic wand and scribes anew script, the words that echo, the words they etch are given body and breath by Authenticity, Autonomy, and Authority.
