Swimming Through Air đââď¸đŹď¸đ¨
A childhood recurring dream

I used to have dreams of swimming through air. Not flying, not floating⌠swimming through air.
Maybe itâs on a planet with less gravity and heavier air. Thatâs what my adult self thought about it, thinks about itâŚ
But my child self? It had to be here on Earth because it was in our everyday life.
One time in our storage garage, one time in my bedroom⌠one time in our back yard⌠or front gravel driveway.
We would float up slowly, the spontaneous buoyancy almost more unsettling than a sudden launch from the ground.
It was near impossible not to swing legs during the loss of equilibrium. And while not as dramatic as it could be⌠that would still change your trajectory mid-float.
You try to flap your arms like wings, but you canât fly given the resistance on your arms.
But you can push through and dive into a circle, or a criss-crossing path⌠glade up, down, all around.
Can you picture it? Preforming pool tricks⌠but above both the water and Earthâs surface.
A lot of times â but not all the time â I referred to it as âinvisible water.â So it was because of water we couldnât feel, but could breathe through.
Other times, it seemed to do with gravityâ or lack thereof.
One time, my mind even made it into âclear lava.â How inconceivable is that??
I had the usual flying or falling dreams tooâŚbut this are the ones that really struck with me.
