Scary Cat
Limerick
There's a cat in my room.
I cannot find the broom.
I Think it ran in my closet.
I shut the door,
But maybe I should lock it.
I'm too afraid to sleep...
Hopefully mom comes home soon.

Say It Plainly Challenge Winners
A pattern showed up pretty quickly reading this shortlist: these poems donโt circle what theyโre about. They just say it. That makes for some tough, raw reads. Miscarriage, infidelity, chronic pain, money, addiction, fear for someone you love. Not much is softened or dressed up. By the end, I felt like I needed a cigarette, and I donโt even smoke.

Cats do have that quality! I think it's in the eyes. This reminds me a little of a Shel Silverstein poem.

I have this same issue with my cats. Great limerick.
Sometimes for fun is the best type of poem. Seriously though, is the cat like six feet tall, grown man. ๐๐ธStill, chihuahuas are just as scary. Kudos on TS.
