How do you love a bouquet of dying flowers?

And ode to the difficulty of letting go

You drink the water from my glass that’s half full

Then ask me for more

If art imitates life, then don’t paint this picture

There’s nothing to see here

~~~
You put an owl on our roof
But what is it protecting?
This house was abandoned long ago
There’s nothing to eat here
~~~

It’s getting too easy to walk on these hardwood floors

Do we have any eggshells I can try out instead?

We were once a plush, white rug but we ripped it right out

There’s nothing to feel here

~~~
Do you remember when we loved love songs?
Do you remember when grocery shopping was romantic?
Do you remember when you rushed home just so you could look at me?
~~~

I saw you last night

Staring at the clock

Your nails picking at the leather of the new statement chair

Does time haunt you now?

Is it sitting right next to you, where I used to?

~~~
The sun is setting sooner lately, but somehow the days feel longer
This seasonal depression is perennial, isn’t it?
I wish you’d love me enough to admit you don’t
I wish you’d fuck me hard enough to soften the blow
~~~

The colour is draining from my face

So I’ll keep painting it for you

Because I’ve always thought there was something romantic about a life sentence

    This is well written and I felt it deeply but also very sad. Love how open you are being.
